Dr. Sagaskie has been teaching mathematics at the high school and college levels since 2001. Erin earned her MS in Mathematics and PhD in Curriculum and Instruction from Southern Illinois University, in 2004 and 2014, respectively. Erin’s current position, since 2005, is math teacher at Carbondale Community High School where she teaches Dual Credit Courses in Statistics and Contemporary Math as well as Transitional Math: Quantitative Literacy and Statistics. Erin has been involved with the University of Texas at Austin, Dana Center’s Mathematics Pathways Project since 2015, authoring courses in Quantitative Reasoning and Statistical Reasoning. Erin has taught a variety of math courses from co-taught freshmen Algebra to Calculus, in arenas ranging from alternative high school to community college. Erin’s expertise and passion are working to remove the barriers to quality education for underrepresented and underserved populations. Erin will serve on a U.S. team studying equity in mathematics education at the 14th International Congress in Mathematics Education in 2021.
