Hi I’m Jessie Rezba! I graduated in 2007 with a B.S. degree in Mathematics and Secondary Education Certification from Illinois College in Jacksonville, Illinois. From there I came to Herscher High School in Herscher, Illinois where I have been for my entire career. In 2011 I began my Master’s coursework in Mathematics at Illinois State University, finishing in 2014. This allowed me to become certified in 2013 as a High School Dual Credit Math Instructor and in 2014 become an Adjunct Professor at Kankakee Community College. During my career I have taught the following courses at Herscher High School, with the current courses I teach indicated with an (*). Note: Courses (v – xi are all single semester courses)

2005 – Illinois Council of Teachers of Mathematics Promising Future Teacher of Mathematics Award Recipient
2006 – Presented on Misleading Pathological Mistakes in Student Misconceptions at the 2006 Annual Illinois Section of the Mathematical Association of America (ISMAA) Annual Meeting
2011 - Panelist on Forum Discussing the Needs of Pre-Service Mathematics Education Students at the ISMAA Annual Meeting
2012 – Teacher Participant in Illinois State National Science Foundation’s Research Experience for Undergraduates program on Graph Theory. Worked with educators and pre-service teachers while researching mathematics.
2017 – Presented Math Meets Research at the Association of Illinois School Library Educators Annual Meeting
2019 – Faculty Mentor for Student Presentation on Mathematical Research at the ISMAA Annual Meeting
2019 – Participated on the IFT Dual Credit Ad Hoc Committee working to advocate for good policy and practice around Dual Credit programs in the State of Illinois
2010 – Present: Member of the College and Career Readiness Working Group for Mathematics at Kankakee Community College
